2007 ACSP Convention Wrap-up
Catherine Stabler, of Swansea, SC has been elected to serve the ACSP as President for 2007 - 2008. Stabler was elected on April 2, 2007 during the ACSP State Convention held in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

At the 2007 Awards Reception on Sunday, April 1, 2007 more outstanding Association members were also recognized. The evening started off with a grab-bag contest in which the participants had to create a style on a mannequin using only the contents of the brown bag they selected. The winner of the grab bag competition was Carol Toney of Myrtle Beach, SC. The evening continued with the Association recognizing the Board of Directors and Affiliate Presidents for their service over the past year.
The Affiliate President of the Year Award is based on an affiliate President's accomplishments in membership, certifications, attendance at meetings, report submission and other criteria. The 2007 Affiliate President of the Year recipient is Tammie Stevens, Affiliate #2 in Florence, SC.
The David E. Bagwell Award (Professional Member of the Year) recognizes cosmetologists on what they have done to upgrade and promote the cosmetology profession by activities supported on the state and local level. The 2007 David E. Bagwell Award recipient is Christopher Cline of Gaffney, SC.
The Jack & Betty Humphries Community Leadership Award is based on personal involvement in church, political and social, civic and educational activities, and for creating an outstanding cosmetology image at all times. The 2007 Jack & Betty Humphries Community Leadership Award recipient is Dawn Baker of Elgin, SC.
The Outstanding Educator of the Year Award gives consideration to nominees based on their accomplishments dealing with education on any level such as for ACSP, the cosmetology industry and any education dealing with cosmetology related events. The 2007 Outstanding Educator of the Year Award recipient is Pat Adams of Columbia, SC.
The 3rd Annual Golden Brush Awards are voted on by the FEC members to recognize their peers for outstanding service. The Golden Brush Award winners for 2007 are:
